Deck overview

This Jund battlecruiser deck is built around Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire, seeking to accelerate mana quickly and cheat massive, game-warping permanents into play. The deck uses a dense suite of one- and two-drop mana acceleration—including mana elves, Sol Ring, and land search—to deploy its six-mana commander by Turn 4. Haste enablers like Lightning Greaves, Rhythm of the Wild, and Arena of Glory ensure immediate attacks. When Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire attacks, it simultaneously destroys the best permanent controlled by each opponent while sacrificing minor fodder to flip topdecked bombs like Portal to Phyrexia, It That Betrays, Tergrid, God of Fright, and Etali, Primal Conqueror. Topdeck sculpting tools such as Sensei's Divining Top, Scroll Rack, and Haunted Crossroads maximize hit quality. Opponents face compounding sacrifice attrition and heavy combat damage, closing games around Turn 7.
