Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Witherbloom, the Balancer to transform a wide board of creatures into massive mana acceleration for instant and sorcery spells. In the opening turns, the deck floods the battlefield with low-cost mana elves, resilient token generators like Bitterblossom and Chatterfang, Squirrel General, and multi-body producers. Once the creature count reaches 5 or more, the commander enters for just two mana and grants full creature affinity to the rest of the deck's spells. This explosive reduction allows high-impact draw engines such as Shamanic Revelation and Collective Unconscious to be cast for mere pips, refilling the hand with tutors and finishers. The deck closes the game rapidly on Turn 5 by tutoring and resolving Craterhoof Behemoth via an affinity-reduced Finale of Devastation or entwined Tooth and Nail, swinging for lethal trample damage against all opponents in a single turn.
