Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan keyword-voltron and reanimator strategy centered around Kathril, Aspect Warper. The primary objective is to seed the graveyard with keyword-rich creatures like Zetalpa, Primal Dawn, Akroma, Angel of Wrath, and Sylvan Caryatid using self-mill enablers such as Buried Alive, Grisly Salvage, and Satyr Wayfinder. Once the graveyard is primed, casting Kathril turns the commander into an enormous, evasive, double-striking, hexproof, and indestructible threat capable of eliminating opponents via commander damage in sequential turns. Backup strategies leverage reanimation spells including Unburial Rites and mass recursion like Eerie Ultimatum to deploy giant beaters directly to the battlefield if Kathril is contained. The deck balances early mana acceleration with board interaction, focusing on assembling an unassailable combat engine to dismantle the table one opponent at a time.
