Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Spellslinger Midrange build centered on Sauron, the Dark Lord. The primary strategy focuses on accelerating into Sauron by Turn 4 or 5. Once on the battlefield, Sauron punishes opponents for casting spells by growing an Orc Army token. Combat connections with Armies trigger Ring Temptation, enabling a wheel ability that discards depleted hands to draw four fresh cards each combat step. Evasion enablers like The Black Gate and Rogue's Passage ensure consistent combat triggers, while Lord of the Nazgûl, Archfiend of Ifnir, and Assault on Osgiliath provide board control and lethal burst damage. The deck features strong built-in Ward protection on its commander, steady card flow, and multiple redundant spellslinger token producers that can close games across several combat cycles.
