Deck overview

This deck is an Esper attrition and tempo control strategy built around Ertai, the Corrupted alongside classic Invasion-era gating creatures. The early game focuses on deploying two-mana rocks and cost-reducing familiars to accelerate mana production. By Turn 4 or 5, the deck establishes its primary engine by casting Ertai or Zur the Enchanter, backed by self-bouncing creatures such as Cavern Harpy, Silver Drake, and Marsh Crocodile. These gating creatures provide reusable sacrifice fodder for Ertai to counter high-impact spells while triggering discard synergies through Warped Devotion. However, because the list lacks fast infinite combos or mass overrun effects, closing out the table requires prolonged aerial combat with small creatures over numerous turn cycles.
