spores by Khealtz

Format: Commander

Commander: Ghave, Guru of Spores

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Ghave, Guru of Spores is the engine of this Abzan Saproling/counters deck, which converts +1/+1 counters into Saproling tokens and back. The primary plan is to resolve a token or counter doubler, use Ghave's two activated abilities to build a massive board, and then win with an overrun (Craterhoof Behemoth, Moonshaker Cavalry) or a sacrifice/drain combo through Slimefoot and Ashnod's Altar. Secondary paths include a fair go-wide Saproling beatdown with Tendershoot Dryad and Nemata, and a recursion-heavy midgame with Evolution Witness. No hidden commander exists; Ghave is the central loop, but the deck can still kill with combat if he is repeatedly removed.
