Deck overview

Betor, Ancestor's Voice leads an Abzan midrange deck that transforms life manipulation into overwhelming card advantage and board presence. The strategy pays life through pain lands, black card-draw spells, and removal to fuel Betor's end-step reanimation, while lifelink combat and soul-sister triggers grow your board with +1/+1 counters. Early turns focus on accelerating mana with two-drop ramp spells and stocking the graveyard using Entomb, Buried Alive, or Ripples of Undeath. Once Betor enters on Turn 4, the deck generates compounding value by recurring heavy hitters like Vilis, Broker of Blood and Beledros Witherbloom. Combat damage and drain effects from Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose steadily pressure opponents, while silence effects from Dragonlord Dromoka and Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar safeguard big turns. The deck reliably closes games on Turn 7 through evasive combat damage and life-drain bursts.
