Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Grixis Combo and Reanimator strategy piloted by Sauron, the Dark Lord. It combines explosive fast mana, efficient black tutoring, and compact win conditions with a distinct Ring-tempting subtheme. The primary plan races to execute a Turn 3 win using Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation, or an early reanimation of Hoarding Broodlord or Razaketh, the Foulblooded. Sauron provides substantial mid-game resilience through an evasive Ward cost, continuous Orc Army generation, and hand cycling whenever the Ring tempts you. The deck supplements its proactive speed with format-staple free countermagic like Force of Will, disruptive flash creatures like Orcish Bowmasters and Opposition Agent, and Underworld Breach for rapid graveyard recursion. While nine copies of Nazgûl disable Tainted Pact as a reliable exile outlet, the density of direct tutors and redundant reanimation targets ensures consistent, high-impact gameplay.
