Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Group Slug and forced-draw archetype led by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The strategy focuses on establishing symmetric and asymmetric life-loss engines early in the game using cards like Roiling Vortex, Razorkin Needlehead, and Underworld Dreams. Once Valgavoth enters the battlefield on Turn 4, every opponent-turn life loss triggers card draw and adds +1/+1 counters, generating massive card advantage and an imposing aerial threat. On Turn 5, high-impact attrition pieces like Manabarbs, Citadel of Pain, Teferi's Puzzle Box, or Sheoldred, the Apocalypse create an oppressive state where basic game actions bleed opponents to death. Supported by efficient black tutors, low-cost removal, and anti-lifegain effects, the deck swiftly eliminates the entire table by Turn 7 through combined passive burn and commander combat damage.
