Shorikai

Format: Commander

Commander: Shorikai, Genesis Engine

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Shorikai, Genesis Engine heads a UW stax-control deck that locks the board with Humility, The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale, Rest in Peace, Cursed Totem and Torpor Orb, then wins slowly with Approach of the Second Sun or The Millennium Calendar. Shorikai is the main draw engine, filtering two cards per tap and making Pilots to crew itself. Tutors like Whir of Invention, Tezzeret the Seeker and Enlightened Tutor find lock pieces or Calendar, while many wraths keep creatures off the board. Unwinding Clock and Unstoppable Plan untap artifacts to accelerate Calendar counters. The deck trades speed for extensive counterspells and board wipes, aiming to survive until a protected two-step Approach or Calendar doubling sequence ends the game.
