Deck overview

This Sultai deck is an explosive Elfball combo engine centered on Thranduil, the Elvenking. The primary strategy rapidly ramps using low-cost mana dorks like Llanowar Elves and Priest of Titania, then uses Buried Alive, Entomb, or universal tutors to place Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, Devoted Druid, and Ezuri, Renegade Leader into the graveyard. Once Thranduil enters the battlefield, it inherits all three activated abilities. Thranduil taps for five mana via Selvala, untaps by placing -1/-1 counters on itself with Devoted Druid, and loops Ezuri's pump ability to generate infinite colored mana, infinite power, and trample across your board. The deck finishes on Turn 5 by swinging with trampling Elves or casting a massive Exsanguinate or Mind Grind. If Thranduil is disrupted, the deck smoothly pivots to standalone artifact combos featuring Umbral Mantle or Staff of Domination paired with Marwyn, the Nurturer or other big mana producers, supported by a dense suite of countermagic and protection.
