Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Boros group slug and burn strategy commanded by Lightning, Army of One. The core game plan focuses on deploying Lightning on turn 3 and attacking on turn 4 to trigger Stagger, doubling all damage dealt to the target opponent. The deck stacks damage-increasing permanents such as Torbran, Thane of Red Fell, Mechanized Warfare, and Rem Karolus, Stalwart Slayer alongside persistent punishers like Zo-Zu the Punisher and Roiling Vortex. A land destruction subtheme leverages targeted land destruction to trigger basic searches into Zo-Zu damage, with Armageddon serving as a high-risk reset. Board-wide damage spells such as Star of Extinction combine with Repercussion to convert creature wipes into instant player eliminations, while Aurelia, the Warleader and extra-combat spells accelerate combat kills. The deck also includes a compact natural-draw win condition in Helm of Obedience plus Rest in Peace.
