Deck overview

This Grixis deck pairs The Ninth Doctor and Clara Oswald to create a hybrid strategy combining fast storm velocity with compounding upkeep attrition. The primary game plan leverages dense 0-1 CMC acceleration and premier black tutors to resolve Ad Nauseam or Necropotence by Turn 3. This massive card injection allows the deck to deploy Orcish Bowmasters alongside Wheel of Fortune and Yawgmoth's Will, shredding opposing life totals and emptying enemy hands while building a lethal Orc army. The deck protects its combo turns using an elite suite of free interaction, including Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, and Deflecting Swat. As an alternate route, the deck exploits The Ninth Doctor's untap ability to generate multiple upkeep steps per turn, multiplying the drain from Court of Ambition and Twilight Prophet or stealing threats with Eternal Dominion. This dual architecture applies rapid combo pressure while maintaining a resilient, card-rich control engine.
