Deck overview

This mono-green deck uses Kona, Rescue Beastie as a high-velocity cheat engine. By leveraging 1-drop mana dorks and tap enablers like Springleaf Drum, Jaspera Sentinel, and Earthcraft, the deck casts Kona on Turn 3 and immediately taps it without needing to attack into dangerous blockers. In the second main phase, Kona triggers Survival to place game-ending permanents such as Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant, Worldspine Wurm, and Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus directly onto the battlefield for free. The deck converts this massive mana advantage into rapid card draw through power-based draw spells like Rishkar's Expertise and Garruk's Uprising. Once a dominating board is established, the deck closes out the game on Turns 5 and 6 through overwhelming trample damage backed by Craterhoof Behemoth or Overwhelming Stampede. If Kona is removed, independent ramp engines powered by Selvala, Heart of the Wilds and Defiler of Vigor ensure seamless hard-casting of high-CMC threats.
