Deck overview

This deck leverages Codie, Ravenous Codex as a five-color centerpiece to duplicate prepared spells cast from creatures with the prepare mechanic. By deploying creatures that enter the battlefield prepared—such as Emeritus of Ideation, Goblin Glasswright, and Studious First-Year—the deck casts spell copies that trigger Magecraft and 'cast from outside hand' synergies. Displacer Kitten serves as an explosive engine piece, flickering prepared creatures upon every noncreature spell cast to continually ready them for additional casts. With payoffs like Witherbloom Apprentice, Kellan, the Kid, and Vega, the Watcher, the deck converts cheap prepared spells into overwhelming card advantage, mana positive loops, and rapid table-wide life drain. A strong suite of interactive answers and defensive staples (including Teferi's Protection and Dovin's Veto) shields the creature-dependent engine during its critical turns.
