Deck overview

This Orzhov deck centers on Winter Soldier, Icy Assassin as a fast, resilient Equipment carrier. Utilizing a dense suite of equipment tutors like Stoneforge Mystic and Cloud, Midgar Mercenary, the deck consistently cheats equip costs via Sigarda's Aid, Puresteel Paladin, and Hammer of Nazahn. It rapidly transforms Winter Soldier, Icy Assassin or secondary threats like Balan, Wandering Knight into lethal attackers with cards like Colossus Hammer, Blackblade Reforged, and the Sword of X and Y cycle. Spot removal such as Anguished Unmaking and Swords to Plowshares clears opposing blockers, while protective tools like Mother of Runes and Lightning Greaves keep key threats alive. If wiped, the commander's activated ability retrieves it directly from the graveyard while auto-attaching equipment, ensuring swift recovery and relentless single-target pressure.
