Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black Aristocrats Control build centered on Avacyn, Angel of Horror. The deck focuses on grinding down opposing boards through repeatable sacrifice and edict effects, converting creature deaths into massive card advantage, mana generation, and life drain. Early turns establish mana acceleration and low-cost sacrifice fodder like Accursed Marauder and Plaguecrafter. By Turn 5, the deck deploys key engine pieces such as Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, or Braids, Arisen Nightmare to strip opposing boards of threats. Once Avacyn, Angel of Horror enters on Turn 6, any nontoken creature sacrificed returns to the battlefield at the next end step, creating a self-sustaining loop that continuously triggers enter-the-battlefield edicts and death drain from Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat.
