Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan combat aggro strategy built around Doran, Besieged by Time. It converts disproportionately high toughness into massive offensive power. The list deploys low-cost creatures with giant defensive stats, such as 0/5s, 2/10s, and 0/13s, which the commander discounts by one mana. When these creatures declare attacks or blocks, Doran triggers to increase their power and toughness by the difference between those stats. This turns cheap defenders into devastating offensive threats that quickly eliminate opponents. The deck avoids common symmetrical combat drawbacks by using one-sided board wipes like Wave of Reckoning and Fell the Mighty, which obliterate high-power opposing creatures while leaving high-toughness bodies untouched. Supported by teamwide hexproof enablers, heavy spot removal, and efficient card draw tied to toughness thresholds, the deck applies relentless combat pressure and closes games across two combat cycles without relying on infinite combos.
