Deck overview

Led by Teval, the Balanced Scale, this Sultai deck operates as a high-powered graveyard reanimator strategy. The game plan focuses on filling the graveyard quickly through efficient self-mill, dredge, and targeted tutors such as Entomb and Buried Alive. Once powerful threats like Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger, or Archon of Cruelty are in the graveyard, the deck uses low-cost reanimation spells—including Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Victimize—to deploy them well ahead of curve on Turn 4. Teval accelerates this strategy by milling cards on attack, recurring lands to the battlefield, and generating an army of 2/2 Zombie Druid tokens whenever cards leave the graveyard. The deck closes games by locking opponents out of resources and delivering lethal combat damage through overwhelming boards amplified by Craterhoof Behemoth or Overwhelming Stampede. Supported by resilient recursion and redundant enablers, the deck functions seamlessly even without its commander.
