Deck overview

This mono-black Commander deck is built around Vilis, Broker of Blood as an explosive reanimator and card-draw engine. The primary game plan seeks to put Vilis into the graveyard on early turns using Entomb or Buried Alive, then reanimate him on Turn 4 with spells like Reanimate or Animate Dead. Reanimating Vilis incurs life loss, which immediately triggers his ability to draw up to 8 cards and fuel a same-turn storm sequence. Using black mana rituals such as Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual, and Rain of Filth, the deck deploys mana enablers like Skirge Familiar or K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth to draw through the remaining library. The sequence culminates in an immediate win via the infinite life-drain combo of Bloodthirsty Conqueror and Starscape Cleric. Backed by redundant reanimation, heavy draw engines, and sweeping removal like Toxic Deluge, the deck reliably converts life into decisive victories.
