Deck overview

This deck is an Esper midrange-control strategy designed around Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign's ability to cast odd-mana-value spells for free upon attacking. The game plan focuses on establishing early ramp on Turns 2 and 3, deploying Yennett on Turn 4, and using topdeck arrangers such as Sensei's Divining Top, Scroll Rack, Brainstorm, and Lim-Dûl's Vault to guarantee massive hits. On Turn 5, Yennett attacks to cheat game-altering threats like Void Winnower, Toxrill, the Corrosive, Breach the Multiverse, or Expropriate into play. These high-impact bombs establish heavy asymmetric board control and stax pressure, allowing the deck to lock out opponents and close the game through overwhelming combat damage over subsequent turns. The list is supported by efficient spot removal and equipment protection.
