Deck overview

Zaxara, the Exemplary is the mana engine and Hydra generator of a Sultai X-spell value deck. The primary plan is to ramp into Zaxara early, then use Unbound Flourishing and Owlin Spiralmancer to multiply the payoff from large X spells. Zaxara's triggered tokens, reinforced by Doubling Season and Corpsejack Menace, create enormous Hydras that can either attack or be sacrificed for value. The main finisher is a copied Torment of Hailfire, with Exsanguinate as the unconditional backup; secondary lines use Genesis Hydra and Villainous Wealth to tutor or steal while Herald of Secret Streams turns the counter-heavy board unblockable.
