Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger Voltron strategy led by Livaan, Cultist of Tiamat and Sword Coast Sailor. The primary game plan uses Sword Coast Sailor to give Livaan unblockable attacks against the opponent with the highest life total. Each noncreature spell cast grants Livaan additional power equal to that spell's mana value. By combining low-cost cantrips, damage doublers like Unleash Fury, and double strike enablers like Raking Claws or Fireshrieker, the deck can eliminate opponents in single massive strikes using commander damage. A robust suite of one- and two-mana protection spells such as Slip Out the Back, Shore Up, and Starlit Mantle shields Livaan from targeted removal while simultaneously triggering power buffs. While the deck possesses rapid single-target lethality and reliable protection, it eliminates opponents sequentially, requiring Livaan to survive across multiple turn cycles to close out the game against the entire table.
