THE WITHER by Duckduty

Format: Commander

Commander: Witherbloom, the Balancer

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a high-power Golgari creature-combo deck helmed by Witherbloom, the Balancer. The plan floods the board with dorks and tokens (Pests, Squirrels, Faeries, Saprolings), then leverages that density for explosive mana via Gaea's Cradle, Circle of Dreams Druid, Cryptolith Rite, and Enduring Vitality. The commander's affinity for creatures discounts itself and every instant/sorcery, turning expensive payoffs like Ad Nauseam, Tooth and Nail, Finale of Devastation, and big X-spells into cheap finishers. Primary wins are layered infinite drain loops (Warren Soultrader + Chatterfang, Squirrel General + aristocrats), Protean Hulk packages, and Ad Nauseam into a winning board. Combat with an enormous token army and Finale of Devastation for X 10 serve as backups. The deck plays as a fast, tutor-dense combo machine that uses the commander as a powerful discount engine rather than a mandatory piece.
