Deck overview

Thorin Oakenshield leads a Boros Dwarf tribal deck centered on historic permanents, Equipment, and the Storied mechanic. The deck's primary plan is to deploy low-cost Dwarves, legendary creatures, and Equipment to achieve an enduring story by Turn 4, granting global ward {1} to protect its developing battlefield. Once established, the deck transitions into lethal pressure through high-impact lords and scaling burn enablers such as Dáin of the Ancient Halls, Thorin, King of Durin's Folk, and Smaug the Magnificent, which convert wide boards and Treasure piles into substantial multi-opponent damage. While the deck boasts strong internal synergy, resilient ward protection, and explosive mid-game combat steps, its reliance on committed permanent boards leaves it vulnerable to heavy board wipes and fast non-creature combo strategies.
