Deck overview

This mono-green deck is commanded by Gargos, Vicious Watcher, designed to assemble big-mana ramp and deploy massive Hydras at a steep 4-mana discount. The deck spends early turns developing its mana base through land-based acceleration and mana dorks. Once Gargos hits the board on Turn 5, it acts as both a cost reducer and a board control engine, fighting opposing creatures whenever any friendly creature is targeted by a spell. In the midgame, the deck deploys threats like Kalonian Hydra, Primordial Hydra, and Hydra Omnivore, turning low-cost pump and protection spells into targeted removal while protecting its board. Trample enablers such as Garruk's Uprising and massive power scalers like Exponential Growth allow the deck to break through stalled boards and eliminate opponents over consecutive combat steps, closing out games by Turn 8.
