Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy mono-black aggro-reanimator deck commanded by The Meep. The primary strategy exploits The Meep's attack trigger, which sacrifices a creature to overwrite the base power and toughness of all your creatures with the sacrificed creature's mana value. To break parity, the list runs high-mana-value creatures with steep cost-reduction mechanics, warp costs, or alternate casting costs, such as Shadow of Mortality, Bygone Colossus, Demon of Death's Gate, and Ancient Stone Idol. By swarming the board with low-cost tokens from cards like Lord Skitter, Sewer King, Dreadhorde Invasion, and Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder, an attack with The Meep instantly converts 1/1 tokens into an overwhelming army of 9/9s to 15/15s. The deck backs up this explosive combat clock with strong recursion spells, 1-mana undying protection spells, and alternate win lines centered on massive beatdown and Gray Merchant of Asphodel devotion life drains.
