Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan lifegain and toughness-matters midrange strategy centered around Betor, Ancestor's Voice. In the early turns, the deck deploys defensive ramp pieces like Wall of Roots and Overgrown Battlement to establish mana velocity and board stability. Once Betor hits the battlefield on Turn 4 or 5, every point of life gained places +1/+1 counters on other creatures, while every point of life lost reanimates creature cards from the graveyard on each end step. The deck converts high toughness into massive combat damage using Felothar the Steadfast and The Kingpin of Crime, or finishes opponents through double strike via True Conviction. Additionally, the deck contains a deterministic two-card infinite combo with Exquisite Blood and South Wind Avatar, draining all opponents simultaneously upon any life gain or loss event. Resilient protection and high card flow ensure sustained pressure through late-game rotations.
