Deck overview

This is a mono-black sacrifice, discard, and reanimator control deck helmed by Tergrid, God of Fright // Tergrid's Lantern. The primary plan forces opponents to sacrifice permanents and discard cards through edict engines, Pox effects, and stax pieces, then either steals those cards with Tergrid or converts the chaos into hard locks and combo finishes. Parallel win paths live entirely in the 99: Painter's Servant + Grindstone, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion, Necrotic Ooze lines, big Torment of Hailfire / Death Cloud turns off Cabal Coffers, and Peer into the Abyss drains with Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. Fast mana, premium tutors, and Necropotence-class draw let the deck pivot between resource denial and instant combo kills while rebuilding through mass recursion like Living Death.
