Deck overview

This Dimir control deck uses Toxrill, the Corrosive to establish an oppressive, asymmetric lock on opposing creatures while generating substantial board presence and card advantage. Built around -1/-1 counters, slime counters, and proliferate mechanics, the list controls the early game through spot removal, hand filtering, and efficient mana acceleration. Once Toxrill lands on Turn 6, it distributes slime counters on each player's end step, dismantling opposing boards and converting casualties into 1/1 Slug tokens. Secondary engines like Maha, Its Feathers Night and Sludge Monster provide redundant board suppression, while Massacre Wurm, Syr Konrad, the Grim, and Blood Artist punish opponents whenever creatures die. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through wide combat damage backed by Wonder or synergistic drain loops with Nest of Scarabs and Blowfly Infestation. While heavily dominant against creature-based strategies, the deck must manage its reliance on an expensive commander and limited noncreature permanent removal.
