Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs an aristocrats combo core with high-impact battlecruiser payoffs. Led by Storrev, Devkarin Lich, the deck uses its commander's Zombie typing to enable Gravecrawler loops alongside Phyrexian Altar and drain outlets such as Blood Artist, Ayara, First of Locthwain, and Mirkwood Bats. The early game relies on cheap mana dorks and rocks to ramp into mid-tier threats, card advantage, and tutors. If the primary combo is disrupted, the deck pivots to big mana finishers including Bolas's Citadel, Rise of the Dark Realms, and Portal to Phyrexia. The deck excels at generating mana velocity and closing games instantly once its engine resolves. However, it runs minimal instant-speed interaction and no artifact recursion, leaving it vulnerable to opposing combo decks and well-timed removal on Phyrexian Altar.
