Deck overview

This is a counter-based midrange control deck led by The Reaper, King No More. Its main exchange is to mark opposing creatures, kill them, and return them under your control. Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, Nest of Scarabs, Flourishing Defenses, and Obelisk Spider turn counter placement into tokens, life swings, or board growth. The Scorpion God, Morbid Opportunist, and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician provide additional card flow. Ramp is respectable and supports the commander around turn 6, but the primary engine needs both a marked opposing creature and a separate death effect. The deck can dominate creature-heavy tables after turn 8, especially with Kulrath Knight, but it lacks a compact win and has little protection or stack interaction. It should be viewed as a value engine and attrition deck rather than a fast combo deck or hard-lock strategy.
