Deck overview

This deck is a five-color Spellslinger and Magecraft deck centered on Codie, Ravenous Codex and the Prepare mechanic. The strategy deploys prepare creatures that act as both board presence and adventure-like spells. Once Codie is active, its activated ability prepares your entire team, and its triggered ability duplicates every prepared spell you cast. This creates explosive turns where spells like Blazing Firesinger // Seething Song provide massive mana bursts and Emeritus of Ideation // Ancestral Recall draws six cards. Magecraft payoffs including Docent of Perfection, Deekah, Fractal Theorist, and Sedgemoor Witch convert these copied spells into wide armies of tokens. Kellan, the Kid accelerates board development by cheating permanents into play whenever prepared copies are cast. While the deck has high synergy and strong mid-game card velocity, its reliance on tapped tri-lands and vulnerability to board wipes keep its execution pace grounded in fair, interactive Commander play.
