Gain and Drain by MooseMage

Format: Commander

Commander: K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a mono-black life-as-a-resource deck built around K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. K'rrik converts every black mana symbol in costs into 2 life, so the deck is packed with heavy-black-pip spells, lifegain triggers, and drain effects that turn that life expenditure into lethal loops. The primary finish is an Exquisite Blood/Bloodthirsty Conqueror loop paired with a life-gain drain payoff such as Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Marauding Blight-Priest, Defiant Bloodlord, Enduring Tenacity, or Starscape Cleric. Secondary lines include a giant Exsanguinate from Stensian Sanguinist // Exsanguinate, an Aetherflux Reservoir life-total kill, and an unblockable Vorpal Sword-equipped K'rrik that removes one player per hit. The deck grinds with Phyrexian Arena, Sign in Blood, Twilight Prophet, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, then turns a single drain trigger into a table-wide kill.
