Deck overview

Orvar, the All-Form turns targeted spells into permanent copies, so the deck wants a useful creature, artifact, or land in play before casting cheap spells that target it. Stormchaser Drake supplies cards when targeted, while Talrand, Sky Summoner, Archmage Emeritus, Case of the Ransacked Lab, and Aetherflux Reservoir convert a long spell sequence into board presence, cards, or life. The deck has good mono-blue selection and interaction, including Mystical Tutor, Merchant Scroll, Counterspell, and Mana Drain. Its main weakness is that the copy engine is not itself a deterministic win. Peregrine Drake, Ghostly Flicker, and Archaeomancer can form a larger engine with the right resources, but the loop needs a separate payoff and is not a two-card combo. The ordinary plan assembles around turn 6, becomes threatening around turn 8, and has no reliable all-player finish.
