Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Voltron and synergy midrange list commanded by Ygra, Eater of All. The core strategy revolves around Ygra's unique static ability, which turns all other creatures on the battlefield into Food artifacts. This turns standard green artifact removal spells—such as Fade from History, Season of Gathering, and Force of Vigor—into devastating, asymmetric creature board wipes. Each dying creature puts two +1/+1 counters onto Ygra, rapidly inflating the commander into a lethal 20+ power threat. Supported by a dense suite of one- and two-mana dorks, Ygra reliably lands on Turn 4. The deck safeguards its massive commander using low-cost hexproof and indestructible protection spells like Overprotect and Mithril Coat, while granting trample or unblockability via Shadowspear and Secret Tunnel to eliminate opponents in sequential combat steps by Turn 7.
