Deck overview

This mono-blue control deck leverages Eluge, the Shoreless Sea to turn Island counts and flood counters into an overwhelming tempo engine. By placing flood counters on lands whenever Eluge enters or attacks, the deck rapidly discounts the first instant or sorcery cast on each player's turn. Cheap blink spells like Essence Flux and Ghostly Flicker accelerate flood counter accumulation while protecting Eluge. Once the reduction engine reaches three or four counters, heavy draw spells such as Flow of Knowledge and Dig Through Time become virtually free, allowing you to cycle through your deck on opponents' turns. Win conditions include commander damage from a massive Eluge, token swarms from Talrand, Sky Summoner and Alandra, Sky Dreamer, and mass bounce spells like Engulf the Shore and Spectral Deluge that clear opposing boards while preserving your own velocity.
