Deck overview

This Bant deck is commanded by Arcades, the Strategist, turning inexpensive, high-toughness defender creatures into aggressive combat threats and continuous card draw engines. The early game focuses on deploying low-cost walls and mana accelerators like Overgrown Battlement and Axebane Guardian. Once Arcades enters the battlefield, each subsequent wall replaces itself in hand while immediately representing significant combat damage equal to its printed toughness. The deck leverages its low power values by running powerful asymmetric board sweepers such as Slaughter the Strong, Fell the Mighty, and Expel the Interlopers, which obliterate opposing boards while leaving the defender army untouched. Combat lethality is accelerated with finisher spells like Tower Defense and evasive enablers like Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive. Redundant enchantments such as High Alert and Assault Formation ensure the deck can maintain offensive momentum even if the commander is removed.
