Deck overview

This mono-blue midrange deck is built around Minn, Wily Illusionist, turning extra card draws into an aggressive token army and a powerful mana-cheating engine. By drawing a second card during each turn cycle—using efficient spells, passive draw engines, and Skullclamp—the deck repeatedly creates Illusion tokens that scale in power with each other. When these Illusions die in combat or to sacrifice outlets like Ashnod's Altar and Phyrexian Altar, Minn puts high-cost permanents directly from hand onto the battlefield for free. High-impact bombs such as Consecrated Sphinx, Agent of Treachery, and Scourge of Fleets overwhelm opposing resources, while one-sided board wipes like Raise the Palisade clear the way for lethal combat damage. Supported by free countermagic like Fierce Guardianship and Force of Negation, the deck maintains strong protection while rapidly outpacing the table in card advantage and board presence.
