Deck overview

This deck is a high-impact Gruul Voltron strategy led by Wolverine, Best There Is. It leverages Wolverine's static damage doubling to turn modest power buffs into lethal one-shot commander damage strikes. Supported by dense 1–2 CMC mana ramp, the deck deploys Wolverine on Turn 2 or 3 and establishes combat readiness by Turn 4. Critical onset arrives on Turn 5, where Wolverine threatens to eliminate an opponent each turn cycle using power doublers like Xenagos, God of Revels and Berserk, or the entire table at once via Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar and Chandra's Ignition. While the deck features an extensive suite of low-cost protection spells (Deflecting Swat, Heroic Intervention, Legolas's Quick Reflexes) and potent fight-based removal, its reliance on sequential combat steps gives opponents response windows, and it remains vulnerable to mass exile and non-creature combo decks.
