Deck overview

Hazel of the Rootbloom is a Golgari Squirrel-tribal engine that turns a wide token board into a mana battery and an exponential token army. The deck aims to resolve an early token producer, then use Hazel's end-step copying to double Squirrels; with Chatterfang, every copying event also creates bonus Squirrels. Secondary paths include go-wide combat with anthems such as Beastmaster Ascension, Banner of Kinship, and Deep Forest Hermit, plus drain effects from Nadier's Nightblade. Hazel also enables huge plays like Rise of the Dark Realms by tapping token creatures for extra mana. The commander is the primary engine; without her, the deck becomes a slower but functional tribal midrange pile.
