Mommy Azula 🔥 by Basimk

Format: Commander

Commander: Fire Lord Azula

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

This is a Grixis spellslinger/combo deck helmed by Fire Lord Azula, built to exploit her attack trigger ("Firebending 2" plus spell-copying while attacking) as both a ritual and a value engine. The deck's primary plan is fast mana into a critical turn where Azula attacks, then chains rituals, copy spells, and storm-style payoff cards into a win - most commonly through Brain Freeze (milling out the table), Reiterate loops, Dualcaster Mage + Twinflame, or Underworld Breach lines. The commander doubles as a mana source and a copy engine, letting the deck compress its goldfish dramatically: she produces the red mana that pays for extra combats or continues the spell chain in the same turn. Secondary paths include Vivi Ornitier as a non-commander copy outlet and Jeska's Will-fueled storm turns, with a lean interaction suite of free counterspells and tutors to protect the chain.
