Mortarion by user8149697

Format: Commander

Commander: Mortarion, Daemon Primarch

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Mortarion, Daemon Primarch is the engine of a mono-black life-payment deck: pain draw and life-loss outlets turn your own life total into an end-step army of 2/2 menace tokens. The main plan is to cast Mortarion, build a large token wave with Wall of Blood and draw-heavy life loss, then convert that wave into drain with Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Al Bhed Salvagers, and Syr Konrad. Secondary paths are Warrior/token combat through Within Range and Heraldic Banner, plus the Unholy Annex demon finish. There is no hidden commander; the deck is built around Mortarion's X trigger, with the other double-faced cards acting as optional payoff spells.
