Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black midrange aristocrats and combat strategy commanded by Zodiark, Umbral God. The deck establishes early board presence using low-cost creatures, token generators, and death-trigger payoffs. On Turn 5, casting Zodiark clears away half of each player's non-God creatures, fueling Zodiark with +1/+1 counters and turning it into a massive indestructible threat. From Turn 6 onward, the deck pressures opponents through high-powered commander attacks, secondary threats like Shredder, Shadow Master, and aristocrat drain from Venerated Stormsinger and Al Bhed Salvagers. The deck relies on a dense basic Swamp package to consistently meet strict black mana requirements. While strong against destruction-based board wipes, the list lacks interaction for artifacts, enchantments, and stack-based combos.
