Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black big-mana and aristocrats strategy built around explosive resource acceleration, sacrifice engines, and decisive late-game reanimation. In the early turns, it establishes tempo with cost reducers such as Jet Medallion and Heartless Summoning alongside creature mana sources like Soldevi Adnate and Priest of Forgotten Gods. It transitions into powerful mid-game engines using Nyx Lotus, K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, or Illuminor Szeras to fuel card draw from Grim Haruspex and Midnight Reaper. The deck leverages its commander, Avacyn, Angel of Horror, to break parity on sweepers like Blood Money and Blasphemous Edict, returning all your nontoken creatures at the end step. The deck consistently closes games around Turn 7 through table-wide reanimation with Rise of the Dark Realms and Living Death, or through massive life-drain bursts using Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Exsanguinate.
