Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black control and big-mana strategy built around Valgavoth, Terror Eater. In the opening turns, the deck develops mana using rocks such as Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, and cost reducers like Jet Medallion. It controls the board with spot removal and mass sweepers like Mutilate while steadily eroding opposing life totals and libraries through Mesmeric Orb, Mindcrank, and Syr Konrad, the Grim. Once it establishes high mana via Crypt Ghast or K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, the deck deploys game-ending threats including Breach the Multiverse, Rise of the Dark Realms, or Valgavoth itself. Valgavoth's continuous ability shuts down opposing graveyard interactions and lets you cast exiled opposing cards by paying life. Protected by a steep ward cost of sacrificing three nonland permanents, Valgavoth and reanimated armies close the game through overwhelming combat damage and continuous life drain.
