Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated Grixis reanimator strategy designed to cheat expensive, game-warping creatures onto the battlefield ahead of curve. The early turns focus on establishing mana through two-mana rocks and using filtering spells or tutors like Faithless Looting and Buried Alive to discard heavy threats. On Turn 4, the deck deploys reanimation spells like Animate Dead or Reanimate to resurrect dominant monsters such as Archon of Cruelty, Sire of Insanity, or Valgavoth, Terror Eater. Once these threats enter, they establish asymmetric resource denial by forcing discards, edicting boards, and generating card advantage. While the deck possesses oppressive control elements, its path to victory relies primarily on combat damage, requiring several turn cycles to eliminate a four-player table. The commander, Kefka, Court Mage, serves as an auxiliary draw and discard engine that rewards symmetric card loss and provides a late-game mana sink.
