Deck overview

This deck is a focused Jeskai Equipment Voltron and board-control deck helmed by Captain America, First Avenger. The deck aims to deploy Captain America on Turn 3, fetch or cast high-mana-value Equipment, and bypass heavy equip costs using his Catch ability at the beginning of combat. Weapons like Excalibur, Sword of Eden, Kaldra Compleat, and Hammer of Nazahn transform the commander into a lethal combat threat while simultaneously fueling his Throw ability, which converts unattached Equipment into targeted direct damage to clear blockers and opposing engines. Supported by free-equip enablers like Puresteel Paladin and Forge Anew, the deck eliminates players sequentially via lethal commander damage. While it boasts dense Equipment tutoring, strong damage output, and solid permanent removal, it lacks counterspells to contest noncreature stack wins and remains vulnerable to mass artifact wipes.
