Deck overview

This Grixis deck leverages Sauron, the Dark Lord alongside nine copies of Nazgûl to form an aggressive midrange engine powered by the Ring-tempt mechanic. Early turns establish mana acceleration through artifacts and dark rituals, setting up a Turn 4 or 5 Sauron deployment. Sauron amasses an Orc Army whenever opponents cast spells, shielding himself behind a punishing legendary Ward cost. Whenever an Army deals combat damage, the Ring tempts you, allowing you to discard your hand and draw four fresh cards. This massive velocity rapidly digs into scaling threats, graveyard reanimation, and heavy payoffs like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse and Terror of the Peaks. Supported by flexible tutors and evasion lands like The Black Gate, the deck converts its card surplus into lethal combat swings and board-wide damage through Chandra's Ignition, closing out multiplayer tables around Turn 7.
