Deck overview

This deck is a classic Golgari Elfball strategy commanded by Lathril, Blade of the Elves. The primary game plan revolves around deploying low-cost mana elves in the early turns, establishing huge mana reserves through scaling dorks like Priest of Titania and Elvish Archdruid, and casting Lathril on curve. Lathril uses menace and power buffs to connect in combat, creating 1/1 Elf Warrior tokens equal to the damage dealt. Once the board state hits a critical mass of 10 or more Elves, the deck transitions into lethal pressure through Lathril's activated ability—draining 10 life from each opponent and gaining 10 life—or by overrunning the table with mass pumps such as Coat of Arms and Finale of Devastation. Untap engines like Quest for Renewal and Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler allow repeated drain activations across turn cycles, while cards like Heroic Intervention defend the swarm against opposing sweepers.
